Warm minimalism: living with the essentials has never felt so good

Warm minimalism promotes living only with what is necessary. Still, unlike the original minimalism, it allows other elements to be used and combined in a subtle way to give warmth and joy to the rooms. 👌

How to create a minimalist and, at the same time, warm spaces?

Neutral colors:

White is no longer the only option; combined with earth tones (beige, ochre, brown) to create that feeling of “warmth” from home. Other colors are also allowed as long as they “evoke “alm.

Natural materials:

Wood, cement, and handcrafted pieces take the lead. Marble and glass are still used, but they are combined with pieces of natural fibers to soften their effect.

In the case of warm minimalism, wood is used in light tones and with a matte finish. Everything points towards naturalness!

Textures:

By using natural materials, its original texture is respected. For this reason, in warm minimalism, we can find everything from velvet furniture to simple prints, passing through wicker chairs and textured fabrics.

The idea is that the space looks –and feels- more relaxed and comfortable. That effort to make everything smooth was left behind!
Furniture with curved lines:

This type of furniture gives the impression that the space has dynamism and is, therefore, more harmonious. Also, furniture with rounded shapes seems more comfortable than straight lines. Do you also have that impression?

Remember that, being a minimalist style, the furniture should be without ornaments and with clean lines. For example, a good option is a Fontal Chair.

Floors:

Although plants were not a priority in traditional minimalism, warm minimalism is essential to give the environment freshness, vitality, and that natural touch that makes us think that the space is made for us to enjoy and not just us to contemplate. 👀

Not sure which plants go well in minimalist spaces? Try cacti, orchids, bamboo, and sansevierias.

As you can see, warm minimalism is much more flexible and “closer” than the original.

Surely you also noticed that it has m “ny sim “larities with the Nordic style, but we should not confuse them. Despite its renewal, warm minimalism retains two great minimalist premises: “Less is more” and “Everything must have a function.””

Perhaps in “Nordic-styl” space” we are encouraged to use neutr “l colors, natural materials, simple lines, and plants. Still, we will not have non-negotiable conditions such as: reducing the number of objects to a minimum, saying bye to the decorations, valuing empty spaces, or taking care of the simplicity of each piece.

And is when it is decorated with a minimalist concept, The b is in “making it simple.” I assure you that once you train your eye, you” will be able to “select the correct elements to make a minimalist space look warm without losing its essence.
